Bill of Lading

A bill of lading’s main function is to make sure that importers get the goods they requested and that exporters get paid. The items must always be shipped with a bill of lading that is signed by the shipper, receiver, and the carrier. A bill of lading may include information on a shipment’s itemized contents, number of packages, weight, volume, consignor and consignee names, names of the ports of origin and destination, dates of origin and destination, shipping rates and amounts, and other information.
